Terms of Service

Effective . These terms are an agreement between you and Haze AI for the Haze website, desktop app, and related services at usehaze.ai.

1. Agreement

By creating an account, downloading Haze, visiting usehaze.ai, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Haze on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and “you” includes it.

If you do not agree, do not use Haze.

2. The service

Haze is an AI workspace where people and agents can work together. It includes the website, the Haze desktop application, account and billing pages, public profiles, servers and invites, and the Haze API that powers them.

Haze is still evolving. Features may change, break, or be withdrawn. We may offer a free tier and paid plans. We do not promise any particular uptime, output quality, or that a given feature will remain available.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you may only use Haze with a parent or guardian’s consent.

You can sign in with email and password, Google, or GitHub. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials and devices secure. Tell us at sam@usehaze.ai if you think someone else is using your account.

Usernames (handles) are public when you claim one. We may reclaim, rename, or refuse a handle that is misleading, infringing, or reserved.

4. Plans, tokens, and billing

Paid plans are billed through Polar. Haze AI never receives or stores your full card number. Polar’s own terms apply to checkout, invoices, taxes, and the customer portal.

Prices, included usage, and plan names are shown at purchase and may change for future billing periods. We will not change the price of a period you have already paid for. Usage limits (including tokens and agent runs) are measured by our systems and are final for billing purposes unless we made a clear error.

Subscriptions renew until you cancel. You can cancel through the Polar customer portal from your Haze dashboard. Cancel before your next billing date to stop the next renewal. Cancellation does not refund charges already paid.

No refunds. All purchases and payments are final and non-refundable, including subscription fees and renewal charges. We do not offer full or partial refunds or prorated credits for unused subscription time, unused tokens or usage allowances, cancellation, downgrades, or account closure.

This policy does not limit any refund rights required by applicable law or available under Polar’s Checkout Buyer Terms. For billing errors or questions about those rights, contact sam@usehaze.ai.

If you bring your own API keys (BYOK), those providers bill you under their own terms. Haze is not responsible for charges those providers issue.

5. Acceptable use

You may not:

We may suspend or close an account that violates these rules, creates legal risk, or threatens the service or other users.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the code, files, prompts, messages, designs, and other material you put into Haze (“Your Content”). You grant Haze AI a limited license to host, transmit, display, and process Your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the service for you — for example to run agents, render a canvas, show a public profile you enabled, or measure usage.

You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to use it in Haze, including any GitHub repositories or other third-party sources you connect.

Public profiles, server names, and anything you share with other members of a server are visible to those audiences. Do not put secrets there.

7. AI features

Haze can run agents locally on your machine or in the cloud, and can send prompts, files, and tool results to language-model providers so the product can work. Outputs can be wrong, incomplete, biased, or insecure. You must review them before you rely on them. Haze is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or engineering judgment.

If you use Haze-hosted models, we send the necessary context to our model providers to complete the request. If you use your own keys, requests go to the provider you configured; those keys stay on your device and are not uploaded to Haze for storage.

You may not use outputs to train a competing model in a way that violates a provider’s terms, and you may not represent AI output as human-authored where the law requires disclosure.

8. Third-party services

Haze integrates with others, including Google and GitHub (sign-in), Polar (payments), GitHub (repositories you connect), Cloudflare (hosting), and model providers. Their terms and privacy policies govern their processing. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.

9. Our intellectual property

Haze AI owns Haze — the software, brand, design, documentation, and the Haze name and mark. These Terms do not transfer that ownership. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our software except as we expressly allow (for example, installing the desktop app for your own use).

10. Software license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Haze desktop app and to access the website, for as long as your account is in good standing. The app is provided as-is. Pre-release and unsigned builds (including Mac builds that macOS flags before notarization) are offered so you can try Haze; use them at your own risk.

11. Disclaimers

Haze is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that outputs will be accurate or fit for any purpose.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Haze AI will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if we were advised they were possible.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid Haze AI for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars ($50).

Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.

13. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Haze AI and its people against claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) that arise from Your Content, your use of Haze, or your violation of these Terms or of someone else’s rights.

14. Termination

You may stop using Haze at any time and may ask us to close your account by emailing sam@usehaze.ai. We may suspend or close the service or your account if you violate these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we shut Haze down. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 6, 9, 11–13, and 16) will survive.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Effective” date at the top will change. For material changes we will try to give notice (for example by email or an in-product notice). Continued use after the new terms take effect means you accept them. If you do not, stop using Haze and ask us to close your account.

16. General

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Haze AI for Haze. They replace any prior agreements on the same subject. If a court finds a part unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, sale, or reorganization; you may not assign them without our consent. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. There are no third-party beneficiaries.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please email sam@usehaze.ai so we can try to resolve it.
